VOX (formerly known as Toolplayer) is a simple media player that will play any music without the fuss of downloading to iTunes, album artwork displays, syncing databases, etc. Basic, light and quite fast. It has been out there in different guises for quite some years but it was only in mid 2010 that it was integrated into the Mac App Store.
The first thing you may notice when you boot up Voxy is how quiet it is. It runs very quickly and with no noticeable delay. It can be used with any Mac OS, with any Mac device and with any laptop/tablet computer. One of the more useful features to note about this player is that it also includes some great third party add-ons which are designed to take the experience to the next level. For example, you can integrate Voxy with GarageBand and Cubase as both formats support a great many plugins.
Voxy does not require much storage space because of the huge collection of sound files it offers. You can store all your favorite artists and genres on its internal hard drive. It will automatically update the list of available media and download new songs to play. If you wish to sync your iTunes library or any other music sources with your Voxy players and speakers then you can do so through the "Add URL" menu. Voxy is extremely easy to use, with a user-friendly interface and a number of useful features. It is also one of the most widely downloaded freeware applications on the internet.
